Big Rabbit Lantern sets in Treasure Hill Artist Village

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2011 is the Year of the Golden Rabbit, which begins on February 3, 2011 and ends on January 22, 2012.  The Rabbit is the fourth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 animals signs. The Rabbit is a lucky sign.  Rabbits are private individuals and a bit introverted.

The Sketch Drawing

The Lantern Festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the Chinese calendar, the last day of the lunisolar Chinese New Year celebration. Children go out at night to temples carrying paper lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns. It officially ends the Chinese New Year celebrations.

In ancient times, the lanterns were fairly simple, for only the emperor and noblemen had large ornate ones. In this times, lanterns could be embellished with many complex designs. For example, lanterns are now often made in shapes of animals. In Taiwan, this festival is often regarded as Chinese Zodiac, or the Chinese version of St. Valentine's Day, a day celebrating love and affection between lovers in Chinese tradition and culture.
